At Hebburn Lakes Primary School, we are keen to broaden the horizons of all of our pupils. We provide children with a wide range of experiences to do this, which includes exploring the world of work.

Each year, the children participate in a Careers Day, enjoying workshops with a number of visitors from a wide range of professions, allowing them the opportunity to ask questions first hand about their role. Careers Day excites students about their learning and helps them to create their own goals and aspirations and reinforces the importance of education.

Children also learn the links between subjects and how they are used within different job roles through Learning Means the World. As you can see from the displays from each subject in school, a vast array of job roles are highlighted for each subject, helping students to make links between subjects, their skills and the opportunities that can arise from them. Pupils are encouraged to explore their own aspirations and dreams, and exposing them to a variety of careers allows them to see what can be achieved by staying motivated and working towards their goals.
