In 2 Blue this week we have been looking at what Media stars and people working in the media industry work with. We looked at some of the equipment and decided that they have a lot of buttons to remember. We then experimented with our very own podcast station and we interviwed our friend using questions that we had created. We each took a turn asking and answering the questions and obviously experimenting with the different sound buttons on the pod cast machine! At the end of the session we decided that we wanted to generate some questions to use to interview Mrs Moody. We came up with some corkers that we can’t wait to hear the answers to!
As part of our Learning Means the World theme- ‘That’s all folks!’ We have been creating our very own animation. We created our own story boards, then using play dough we created the characters from the stories we had made. After that we designed backdrops for our animation. We then used ‘stickbot’ to create our very own animations.
Year 2 had the pleasure of working with Mr Bryant and his company Meia Partnership to look at how digital technology is used in the media world. This was part of our theme of Inter-Nation Media Station. We looked at different microphones and cameras. We watched how the company made an advert and then we watched one of our friends travel to different places using Green Screen technology. It was so much fun!
Today in LMTW we have been learning about data inputting and why it is important in a business. We first started off with the question, ‘What is the most popular colour in 3 Blue?’ then we went and collected the data from the 28 children (and two teachers) in our class through a tally chart… which connects our learning to maths! We then inputted our data onto a spreadsheet and also created a bar chart to show us the results. From our results, we concluded that blue was the most popular colour in our class!
William from 2 Blue, has been nominated in this year’s One Voice Awards – the awards ceremony for the UK voice-over industry. He has been recognised for his Blueline Taxis ads, and has made the shortlist in the “Radio Commercial, Best Male Performance” category, alongside names that have spent decades perfecting their craft. Regardless of the outcome, this is already a huge win!
The winners are announced at a glitzy event in London on 18th May – We wish William the best of luck!
Safer Internet Day is a global campaign to promote the safe and responsible use of technology to help create a better internet. The year’s theme is ‘Inspiring change? Making a difference, managing influence and navigating change online’.
Using the internet safely and positively is a key message that we promote at Hebburn Lakes Primary School and celebrating Safer Internet Day is a great opportunity for us to re-emphasise the online safety messages we deliver throughout the year.
Our Computing Lead, Miss Begum led an assembly to promote online safety and why it is important. Later on in the week, we will be getting involved with activities aimed at helping us to understand how to keep safe online and how to make the internet better.
