In hockey today, we battled against the wind to continue to practise our dribbling and passing skills.
Our Upper Key Stage Two Boys’ Football Team continued their impressive run of form in this year’s league programme with another convincing win at Hebburn Comprehensive School on Tuesday evening.
With one matchday remaining, the boys are now well-placed to qualify for the Primary Schools’ Champions’ League Event which will take place later in the year.
Well done boys and well done to all of the players from schools who were represented at the games. Special thanks too to Mr Todd and Mrs Jennings for their assistance with the squad.
Huge congratuations to Harvey in Year 6 who has represented the South Tyneside Under-11s County Football Team this season. The team came so close to winning the league, but just lost out in a close encounter to their Newcastle counterparts in the final league game. Lots of boys and girls at Hebburn Lakes play successfully for teams in the local area and we are sure that more children will follow in Harvey’s footsteps in the years to come. Well done Harvey!
We always love to celebrate our children’s achievements out-of-school and we are delighted to share Amelia’s recent dance competition success at a national festival held in the south of England. Amelia finished 3rd in the ‘Slow’ category and she qualified in the ‘Fast’ category. Congratulations Amelia and keep up the good work!
Congratulations to our Year 6 children who returned from our residential trip at Thurston this afternoon. Every single one of you displayed all of the Navigators qualities we show in school to battle through everything the Cumbrian weather could throw at us. A full photographs showcase will be uploaded in due course but for now, here is one of the few blue-sky pictures we could take! Well done everyone!
Wow 2 Purple certainly know how to use our new sensory circuits!
We had so much fun in PE this week. We have been developing our dribbling skills and learning how to keep possession of the ball. As you can see we are really good and can’t wait for next weeks session!
Year 6 are tingling with anticipation as we begin the final countdown to setting off to Thurston this year. The children will be spending a week in the beautiful Lake District National Park, on the shores of Coniston Water. Thurston offers children a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to discover skills and interests they never knew they had, from fell-walking to canoeing, abseiling to ghyll-scrambling and rock climbing to jetty-jumping! Our children will no doubt make very best of their time there and return with wonderful memories, increased confidence and turbo-charged resilience to carry forward into secondary school. Good luck everyone and most importantly, enjoy the flapjack! Well done also to Keavy and Evie in 6 Blue who have created a celebratory sketch of the mountains and lakes.
In PE this half term, Year 4 are learning how to play hockey. This week, they have been practising their dribbling, passing and stopping skills with their partners.
