The big man himself, SANTA, came by to visit 2 blue as he had heard that they have been brilliantly behaved this year. The children all had a chance to high five and most importantly tell him what they would like for Christmas!
School Council News:
On Tuesday, our KS2 School Council attended the Armistice Day service in Monkton Village. Although it was rainy and cold, the children stood with pride and showed respect throughout the entire service. They laid a wreath on the cenotaph and sung hymns beautifully. We even ended our trip with a well-deserved hot chocolate! Well done KS2 School Council.

This game will be part of Sunderland’s Heroes Week, celebrating and magnifying the amazing military history of the club. As this game will be taking place on Remembrance Sunday, this will be an extra special occasion.
Can’t make it to this game? ALL of our home league games in 2025 are now available to book now via our website, as well as our Subway Women’s League Cup tie against Durham. You can also now purchase tickets for the Lasses’ trip to St James’ Park to play Newcastle on 16 November.

We have had a very busy first week back! Using our maths skills, Sounds Write skills and being very creative. We have been looking at China and visiting our Chinese restaurant we created.
Today in our Learning Means the World lesson, we have been doing some computing. We have been looking at what algorithms are and how they work. We got into pairs and one person was a robot and the other was the instructor. We used directional language like “forwards and backwards” to give the robot an algorithm (a series of instructions). We also loved performing our algorithms for the camera!
Please welcome our new School Councilors and OPAL Ambassadors for 2025/2026!
We are so excited to get started on our super important jobs, such as supporting within OPAL and making vital decisions within school.
Our very first task is to create the decorations for our Halloween disco, how exciting!
I would also like to say a big thank you to last years school council team for all their hard work and determination. You were all amazing.
