Well done to Jacob for his stellar efforts to learn his times-tables! Not only has Jacob put a huge amount of effort into Times Tables Rockstars, he has also delved deeper into his knowledge of the 9x table, producing a quite brilliant list of the multiples of 9! Well done Jacob!
Dear Community,
Please see the following information from Toby Henderson Trust. I do hope that you find it useful.
We would like to share details of our next Open day:
The Toby Henderson Trust (TTHT) at the Autism Hub will be hosting a Summer drop-in Garden party, giving everyone the opportunity to come along to meet the team, learn more about what we do, whilst enjoying some refreshments in our ‘Tranquillity Garden’. We also hope it will be an opportunity to help build on the communities understanding of Autism and inclusivity for all autistic individuals and their families. Whether you have a local business, work/live in the area, are a South Tyneside professional or parent/carer we would love for you to come along.
Date: Tuesday 18th June 2024 10am – 2pm.
Introduction to Makaton workshop for families:
We are offering a free ‘Introduction to Makaton’ Family Workshop on Monday 24th June, 10.00am-12.30pm, delivered by Makaton Tutor Anna Melling from Talk to the Hand Makaton Training (limited places available).
TTHT ‘Out & About’ in the community:
We understand through feedback received from families that it can be pretty tough, when your ‘cup is already full’ to come along to somewhere new and access support for the first time with people you have never met before. That’s why the team are so passionate about finding ways to break down those barriers and get ‘out and about’ in the community so families can meet us, have a chat and feel comfortable and reassured to come along to access our services at the autism hub.
We decided this summer we would add to the many ways we do this by planning a local ‘Walk & Talk’ event. This is a chance for anyone to meet us and join the TTHT at the Autism Hub Team on a relaxed walk and talk along the South Shields Coastline.
Wednesday 17th July 10am – 11am.
Full details can be found on the poster attached. No booking is required for this event.
Today in maths we have been learning about durations. We know that a duration is how long something lasts for and that some events can last more than one hour. We used our previous skills and knowledge of reading an analogue and digital clock to work out the durations of different events. To help us, we used our mini analogue clocks. We are now time experts!
Today in LMTW we have been learning about data inputting and why it is important in a business. We first started off with the question, ‘What is the most popular colour in 3 Blue?’ then we went and collected the data from the 28 children (and two teachers) in our class through a tally chart… which connects our learning to maths! We then inputted our data onto a spreadsheet and also created a bar chart to show us the results. From our results, we concluded that blue was the most popular colour in our class!
Mrs Thomas asked the children for some ideas for activities that could be included in Breakfast Club. They went away to chat to their friends and collated some lists. We then came back together, discussed and finalised a wish list for Mrs Moody. The new items have arrived and will be rolled out into Breakfast Club after half term!
