This week saw the return of Governor Day. It was even more exciting for the children as the Chair and Vice Chair gave an assembly about the governing body role and how they help the school.

This week the children had a fantastic opportunity to take part in R.E workshops based around the Indian festival of colour, ‘Holi’. Kalpesh from K’z Dance Entertainment Ltd taught all the children some traditional Indian dances and discussed with them the meaning of the Holi festival. At the end of the day the whole school came together and performed the dances taught earlier in the day, the children and staff had some wonderful moves! At the end of the performance everyone took part in throwing colourful dyes at one another to celebrate Holi, just like it is carried out in India.
Our brilliant Upper Key Stage Two Boys’ Football Team continued this season’s fantastic run of results with another thrilling display at today’s Bart Rippon Cup event at Temple Park. Having qualified for the semi-final stage during the morning fixtures, the boys then made it through to this afternoon’s final with a narrow 1-0 victory over Harton. The final was another closely-contested game which eventually went to a dreaded penalty shoot-out! By a whisker, we were defeated by St. Matthew’s, who went away as today’s cup winners – congratulations to them and well done to all of the children who represented their schools today.
I am so proud of the players’ efforts and attitude to finish runners-up – you are all a credit to yourselves and it was a pleasure to take you there today. Well done boys!

Thank you to everyone who attended our Jubilee Coffee morning today, it was an amazing success and lovely to see parents back in school again. It was also great to see the art produced by the children as well as a special performance from Year 6.
Have a look at the amazing art from across the school.
