The votes are in; meet your new School Council members for this academic year!
Each class elected their school councillor through an anonymous vote, based on the qualities and ideas they pledged to bring to the school council. As well as standing as elected council members, the pupils are OPAL Ambassadors who are committed to evaluating and improving OPAL throughout the year. We have already met to create our mission statement that outlines our goals, aspirations and commitment to Hebburn Lakes. One of our main pledges was to listen to everyone’s ideas, and we have been collecting pupil voice in our notebooks to ensure we listen to every voice and can bring a range of ideas and perspectives to each meeting. We want everyone at Hebburn Lakes to recognise our important role and approach us with any queries or suggestions to make our school the best it can be – or leave a suggestion in the Suggestion Wallet in the hall!
